What People Ask Before Joining
Q&A
Do I need sailing experience?
Not required. Just show up ready to learn and work — we train on board.
Who is this trip for?
No passengers. Only 10 crew, full rotation. If that clicks — you're in the right place.
Will there be warm-water routes?
Maybe. But not this year — we’re staying in the North for now.
I want to join with my family (or 2 families). Possible?
Sure, as long as you're ready for crew life. Write us, we’ll plan it out.
My budget is limited. Any chance?
Yes. We’re flexible. Just tell us your range — we’ll try to make it work.
Can I apply to work with you / send a CV?
Totally. Shoot us your story + CV at team@xploration.club
I’d like to join in exchange for content, science or creative stuff. Possible?
We’re open to it. Ocean research, film, art — pitch your idea.
What’s included in the price?
Steel yacht, permits, fuel, safety gear, full team. Food’s shared by the crew.
Will I meet the captain before joining?
Yes. Dmitry personally talks with everyone before adding to the crew.
What’s the weather like?
Wild. Could be calm, could be 50 knots. We’re ready for Arctic moods.
What’s life like onboard?
Simple. Shared bunks, hot meals, real teamwork. No luxury, just full engagement.
How safe is it?
Very. Ice-class yacht, redundant systems, safety drills, trained team.
What’s the exact route?
Svalbard → Jan Mayen → Scoresby Sund → Ísafjörður — 17 days, 1500 NM.
Who runs it all?
Dmitry, RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, 20,000+ NM, 9th season leading Arctic routes.
