This is a really challenging offshore ocean passage from South to North, with various winds and sea conditions
Much more various and interesting than the standard Canary-Caribbean one.
First part: trade winds
First, we’ll have a 1-day passage from Praia to Mindelo, and then will have about 800 miles port tack across the trade winds. This could be more pleasant, at least more predictable part. Here we have a good chance to get used to 4 out of 5 sails on board (all except the gennaker).

Second part: who knows?
The second week we’ll head North-North-East, and it will much less predictable and various in terms of the wind. Here we’ll need all our experience and navigation skills to make the best route through various weather conditions.
But not only the ocean comes our way. We also expect to stop by on couple of islands before the long jump (on Cabo Verde) and after it (on Azores).
