From volcano of Etna to volcanic Aeolian islands — and then back to Sicily

It’s a rather easy, but still very interesting sail near Sicily, over the Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas and through Messina strait. With the Aeolian volcanic islands as a main dish.

Price: €750 Apply now

We first pass along Sicilian coastline to the North, to Messina, entering Tyrrhenian sea after passing the strait.

Nothing but severe storms (that we don’t expect though) can stop us towards a remote archipelago of Aeolian volcanic islands, with steep and rocky shores. (If we’re lucky about weather and volcanic activity, we could also watch at the Stromboli lava explosion just from the yacht.)

The last part of the journey is the return to Sicily, Palermo, preparing for another sea crossing to Sardegna on the next stage.

Approximate route:

  • Catania → Messina, 50nm
  • Messina → Vulcano, 45nm
  • Vulcano → Lipari, 10nm
  • Lipari → Alicudi, 35nm
  • Alicudi → Palermo, 50nm
